About the Artist

Hi, l’m Dan Patterson. I’ve been painting fine art for over 40 years, specializing in oil painting. I am currently known for my still life work, but I also do landscapes and an occasional figure painting. I strive to create realistic compositions by painting familiar subjects and employing a careful understanding of how light affects our perception of color.
I work from my studio in my home, where I've lived with my wife. I've developed my skills and knowledge of art by acquiring a degree from Illinois Central College and Minneapolis Technical College in the field of Commercial Art.
I  worked in the Commercial Art field as an Illustrator, Production Artist, and Designer and also taught at the Brooklyn Park Technical College as a Commercial Art instructor. During my time as a Commercial Artist I always pursued my love for fine art.

I hope you enjoy my website. If you are interested in acquiring my work or have a question, please visit my contact page to email me. Thank You!
